FOUNDER, FLASHBACK STUDIO
As a firm believer that there are no dead ends in life and driven by an experimental, risk-taking spirit, Usha Bragenshyam's career has seen her crossing boundaries and exploring many disciplines, in each instance bringing new perspectives with her.
Usha started out as an architectural technologist before taking up Fine Arts at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). Following her tutorship at the Academy, she co-founded Backdoor Studios in 2007; an independent ceramics studio which specialised in experimental surface treatments of clay.
2012 saw her take on the role of design architect for commercial asset enhancement projects.
She then went on to take up culinary arts and later helped start up several restaurants and cafes.
FLASHBACK STUDIO was set up in 2014 as an architectural consultancy that manages design projects in Singapore and Australia. The studio also sees to the design and production of reclaimed Wood furniture.
She hopes one day be able to give others the opportunity to explore design and art the way she has seen it change hers.
